Job Purpose for City of Tshwane Hydrant Officer 2026
To ensure that all street fire hydrants are in a functional condition for use in the event of a fire through inspection, maintenance, servicing and measurement of flow and pressure annually. Establish if hydrants conform to fire safety standards.
Primary Functions for City of Tshwane Hydrant Officer 2026
Ensure all street fire hydrants are in functional condition through inspection, maintenance, servicing and measurement of flow and pressure annually
Establish if hydrants conform to fire safety standards
Appointment Requirements
Qualification: Grade 12
Added Advantage: 1475 SAQCC Fire Technician Course. Plumbing qualification or N4 in Plumbing
Experience: At least one year relevant experience in fire hydrant maintenance environment
License: Valid Code B driving licence
Skills: Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
Physical: Must have reasonable levels of physical and medical fitness
Other: Willingness to be assigned to any geographical fire station in Tshwane. Willingness and ability to be on standby and work after hours on weekends and public holidays. Must undergo criminal record check and allow fingerprints to be taken by Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost
