Responsibilities – Veterinary Intern Onderstepoort OVAH
- Provide clinical service with administrative responsibilities at OVAH under Faculty Specialists mentorship
- Participate in after-hours work weekdays + weekends on rotational basis
- Gain exposure in community, trauma and emergency medicine at OVAH + satellite facilities
- Participate in clinical training of undergraduate veterinary + veterinary nursing students
- Supervise clinical procedures as part of offering clinical services
- Participate in clinical rounds and research activities for MMedVet programme introduction
- Join intern mentorship programme for non-clinical development as prospective specialist
- Work alongside specialists and highly skilled teams at cutting edge of veterinary medicine
Minimum Requirements – UP Veterinary Intern 2026
- Qualification: BVSc-degree or BVMCh or equivalent professional veterinary qualification
- Registration: Registration as veterinarian with South African Veterinary Council SAVC compulsory
- Knowledge: Acknowledged clinical expertise + adequate subject knowledge for post
- Skills: Appropriate language + communication skills
- Skills: Good interpersonal skills + computer skills Windows MS Office internet
- Availability: After-hours availability for emergency + weekend duties
