Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols and surveillance to detect security threats and illegal activities
• Monitor and control access points at OR Tambo International Airport
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms
• Enforce security protocols, rules and regulations
• Conduct security screenings: bag checks, metal detector operation
• Search people, luggage and vehicles at roadblocks/checkpoints
• Maintain surveillance from covert positions at border areas
• Control illegal movement of people and goods
• Process arrests of illegal foreigners and safeguard evidence/exhibits
• Perform immigration duties and border management activities
• Collaborate with SAPS, SANDF and emergency services
• Document and report all security incidents accurately
• Ensure compliance with national and international border control laws

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate / NQF Level 4 as recognised by SAQA
• 1 year experience within Security related field or public security law enforcement
• Training in public security environment will be added advantage
• Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, weekends and public holidays
• Physically and mentally fit for armed service duties
• No criminal record
