Key Duties & Responsibilities for Law Enforcement Officers

• as Law Enforcement Officers Conduct vehicle/foot patrols around inner perimeter and borderline areas
• Control access/egress at Groblersbridge port of entry
• Search people, luggage and vehicles at roadblocks/checkpoints
• Monitor and control movement of goods and people SA-Botswana border
• Maintain surveillance from covert positions near international border
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and alarms
• Process arrests of illegal foreigners held in temporary holding cells
• Safeguard and control exhibits/evidence for handover to other agencies
• Perform immigration duties and border management activities
• Document and report all security incidents accurately
• Collaborate with SAPS, SANDF and emergency services
• Ensure compliance with border control and customs laws

Minimum Requirements for Law Enforcement Officers

• Grade 12 Certificate / NQF Level 4 as recognised by SAQA
• 1 year experience in Security related field or public security law enforcement
• Training in public security environment = added advantage
• Flexibility for shift work, overtime, weekends, public holidays
• Physically and mentally fit for border operations
• Valid driver’s licence + ability to drive
• No criminal record
