UCL TECHNICAL APPRENTICESHIPS
UCL is a medium-sized company situated in the beautiful KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, approximately 50km from Pietermaritzburg, and operates in a diverse agricultural environment. We are looking for young, dynamic, self motivated Individuals wha will be able to work independently.

Minimum Requirements and Knowledge
To be considered for selection, candidates must have completed Grade 12 with maths and science or NCV level 4
N2 certificate with relevant trade theory subject
Apprenticeship Programme Outline:
The apprenticeship program is a three-year program comprised of workplace and institutional training.
Institutionalised training occurs at Shukela Training Centre (STC) at Mount Edgecombe for
approximately 20 weeks over the three years.
Employment/exposure/training in different factory sections during operations and annual shut maintenance periods (approximately 20 weeks for both extract and sugar factory).
The completion of each year’s training will be rounded off by a Mini Trade Test (phase test), determining the continued participation in the training program. A final Trade Test will lead to a National recognised qualification.
Contracts are fixed term in nature and will be subject to a renewal process based at the company’s sole discretion and will depend entirely on satisfactory progress and performance.
