Salary: R28 315.59 per month (basic salary, excluding benefits)
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must have:
-
Grade 12 / Matric (NQF level 4)
-
Firefighter I certification
-
Hazmat Awareness
-
Basic Ambulance Course (BAC) / Basic Life Support (BLS)
-
Valid Code C1 Driver’s License with PrDP
-
Valid HPCSA Registration
-
No work experience required (entry-level role)
-
Physically fit and healthy
-
No criminal record
Key Responsibilities
As a Fire Fighter / EMT, you will:
-
Respond to emergencies, including fires, accidents, and hazardous situations
-
Provide emergency medical care and patient rescue
-
Assist in specialized rescue operations (aquatic, structural collapse, confined space, etc.)
-
Support hazardous material management and incident response
-
Conduct training, resource utilization, and equipment maintenance
-
Help minimize risks to communities through proactive safety measures
Skills & Competencies

Core Skills: Fire safety knowledge, risk identification, OH&S compliance

Leading Competencies: Strong communication (oral & written), interpersonal skills, ability to complete reports and forms

Personal Attributes: Teamwork, integrity, professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to Batho Pele principles
