Position Overview

The City of Tshwane is seeking to appoint a Librarian: Mobile Library Operations on a three-year fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will manage and deliver mobile library services, promote access to information, support educational initiatives, and foster a culture of reading within communities.

Remuneration

• Salary Scale: R414 972 – R576 336 per annum
• Estimated Total Package: R560 116 – R756 502 per annum
• Job Level: T11

Minimum Requirements

• A relevant three-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma or Degree) in Library and Information Science or a related field
• At least two years’ relevant library experience
• A valid Code C1/EC1 driver’s licence
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in SirsiDynix Symphony or similar library systems
• Willingness to undergo a criminal record check (including fingerprint verification at own cost)

Advantageous:

• Registration with the Library and Information Association of South Africa
• Supervisory experience

• Ensure maintenance and upkeep of the mobile library fleet
