Port Worker – Transnet Port Elizabeth MPT
Transnet Port Terminals invites applications for Port Worker. Operating Division: TPT Port Elizabeth MPT. Reference: req5031. Non Permanent position.
Position Purpose
The provision of labour as directed by supervisor in order to ensure safe and clean working environment or optimized cargo handling.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF 04 qualification
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Knowledge of Terminal Layout + Safety + Stack Positions
- Skills: Attention to detail + Cleanliness
Duties
- Cleaning of operational equipment such as ship to shore cranes
- Inspection of container condition + Reefer monitoring operations
- Opening and closing of rail wagons twist-locks
- Loading off-loading and slacking of cargo per SOP
- Cleaning of operational areas, rail trucks, workshops, offices
- Complete applicable documentation i.e. accident reports
