Job Description

The Department of Library and Information Services at Tshwane University of Technology eMalahleni Campus seeks to appoint a Library Assistant for Circulation, Multimedia and Interlibrary Loans.This is a permanent position at Post Level 12, Reference Number 25/513b.

Key Responsibilities

Circulation of library information resources and loans administration.Financial administration related to circulation services and client services.Borrowing requested information resources from other Tshwane University libraries.Supplying requested information resources to Tshwane University libraries.Administrative services and support for multimedia resources.Prioritizing, planning and organizing daily duties to meet library operational needs.

Minimum Requirements

National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.Minimum 2 years relevant experience in library or information services environment.Knowledge of library computerized circulation systems in general.Understanding of library and information processes and LIS circulation policies.

Experience with Circulation Module of Sierra/Innopac/Millennium Library System and OPAC.Knowledge of Millennium serials module will be advantageous.Skills and CompetenciesGood communication skills and customer relations.Computer literacy and administration skills.

Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and work independently.Ability to work under pressure and effectively communicate with library clients.People with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
