2. Position Summary for Eskom Customer Service Officer
The main purpose of Eskom Officer Customer Service Area 2026 is to manage and provide excellent generic and interface customer services for specialist fields in a defined geographical area. This Midrand based position within Gauteng Cluster Business Unit focuses on customer relationship management, quotation services, and revenue cycle management. As Officer Customer Service Area you will supervise customer service activities and ensure Eskom customers receive quality service delivery across retail operations.
3. Key Responsibilities for eskom_005371
- Perform general supervisory activities for customer service team
- Manage customer data and maintain accurate customer records
- Handle generic service activities and customer queries
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Manage quotation and connection services for new customers
- Manage vending and prepaid activities including meter services
- Optimize customer interaction OCI processes
- Acquire new customers AC and manage revenue cycle MRC
- Ensure compliance with Eskom customer service standards
4. Skills and Competencies Required
Behavioral: Integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, professionalism. Leadership skills including team player, motivating teams, coaching, mentoring, developing staff, leadership and supervision.
Knowledge: Optimize customer interaction OCI, Acquire Customer AC and manage revenue cycle MRC processes. Customer relationship management. Low voltage LV maintenance and fault repair. Applicable safety training for supervisors. Organisational understanding. Contract management. Metering and billing. Credit management directive and policy.
Skills: Communication, planning and control. Budgeting and planning. Operating regulations for high voltage HV and low voltage LV systems. Computer literate. Valid driver’s licence essential.
5. Minimum Requirements for Eskom Officer Customer Service Area
- Qualification: National Diploma or National N Diploma at NQF Level 6 with 240 credits in Business Management, Communication, Marketing, Commerce, Engineering, Social Science, Accounting or Finance
- Experience: Minimum 3 years customer service experience in utility, retail or call center environment
- License: Valid South African driver’s licence
- Computer Skills: MS Office, customer database systems, SAP preferred
