  • Salary: Level 10 per TUT salary scale + benefits
  • Requirements: Trade Test Welder + 2yrs experience

Key Performance Areas – Artisan Welder Duties

  • Provide effective routine and breakdown plumbing maintenance service at all sites
  • Assist in breakdown maintenance of welding and metal fabrication work
  • Assist in preventative maintenance schedules for building infrastructure
  • Identify and rectify faults on metal structures, gates, burglar bars, steel work
  • Maintain reasonable knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act OHS Act
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications
  • Use welding equipment safely including arc, gas, MIG welding machines
  • Maintain tools, equipment and workshop in clean safe condition
  • Assist other artisans and technical staff when required
  • Complete job cards and report completed maintenance work

Minimum Requirements – TUT Artisan Welder 2026

  • Qualification: Completed apprenticeship OR Trade Test Certificate in Welding
  • Alternative: Certificate issued under section 28 or 30 of Manpower Training Act 1981
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years relevant experience as Apprentice Artisan Welder
  • Knowledge: Relevant legislation, Company Policies, SHE Regulations, OHS Act
  • Skills: Communication, Computer Literacy basic MS Office
  • License: Valid driver’s licence compulsory
  • Physical: Physical fitness assessment required
  • Availability: Required to work after hours and overtime when needed
