Date of release of matric results
The DBE has declared Monday, January 13, 2025, as the date for the release of the matric results.
This choice coincides with the Wednesday, January 15, 2025, start of the 2025 school year.

The results will be made public nationwide by the Department of Basic Education on Monday, January 13, 2025.
January 14, 2025, a Tuesday: Individual matric results will be accessible online through official DBE platforms and in schools.

- Get your exam number and cellphone
You need your exam number to gain access to your matric results.
- SMS or use the USSD code
Register by SMSing your exam number to 35658, after which you will receive reminders and USSD instructions to follow to gain access to your results on Tuesday, 14 January.

Alternatively, dial the USSD code *120*35658#.
You will then receive further instructions to gain access to your results on Tuesday, 14 January.

Exams administered by the Independent Examinations Board are not covered by this service; only the National Senior Certificate exams administered by the Department of Education are.
