Purpose of the Job
The Network Engineer monitors network status, attends to network incidents and service requests to ensure service restoration. The incumbent completes root cause analysis for network failures. This Network Engineer Unified Communications position focuses on VOIP, Cisco Call Manager and enterprise network infrastructure supporting government departments.
Minimum Requirements
- 3-Year National Diploma/Degree in IT related field: Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, BCom IT etc
- CCNA Certificate – Compulsory requirement from Cisco
- 3-5 years experience in Wide Area Network WAN
- Experience in Troubleshooting Technology and Network topology
- Knowledge of Network Design, Application Layer and routing protocols
- South African ID or valid work permit
- Willing to work standby shifts and overtime when required

- Knowledge of SIP, VOIP and Cisco Call Manager platform
- Video and Web conferencing technologies
- ESXI virtualization and System IOS & OS platforms
- Management Suite: PCP, PCA, PCD & eSight

- End user telephony equipment configuration
- Configuring and supporting multi-site voice deployments
